| first day of spring

it was the first of spring today
the sky was blue, a sunny day
it felt so good to wake up to it
it was going to be good and i just knew it
with no phone or watch for time
i had my clock set right at 9
and i kept that clock right in my pocket
so i can go to psychology and rock it
i took david's longboard for a ride
the day was so pretty that i had to try
i was doing well riding straight through campus
was feeling hardcore and a little pompous
i rode straight to the puddles and ish
the waters seperated with a sound of a swish
and i didnt notice then but my feet got wet
not really good for traction i bet
i took my right foot down for a hard push forward
and then my left foot shot out, right with the board
and in that moment i lost all my wits
the professors would call that a textbook split
my right leg backwards and my left foot out
thats what a wipeout is all about
i slowly got up in a good deal of pain
people watched me and said, "is he insaneeee?!?"
i didnt ride the longboard after that today
i found my bike and rode the rest of the way
in times like this, ohhh i wish i had wings
and that my friends was my first day of spring
have a good quarter homies. |
